Possibly dumb question... minions!
looked around the forums and google a bit and didnt see anything on this... is there a minion cap per party? or is it always per character/hero?
also, has anyone tried a full minion party? decent mix of skills, but all rits, necros and maybe a ranger or two. is it terrible, op or just plain silly? XD i kind of want to play around with a full minion hero party but i'd have to go get a fair amount of other skills before i do, so i thought i'd ask |

My understanding is that the cap is limited to the individual character and not to the party. When you run multiple MMs they can take up to the cap limit of minions each, so i would assume that this is the case. The rest would depend on the number of corpses/variety of spirits you can summon, I would assume. Nothing like the old days of a real minion rush...

Minions are limited by your rank in death magic http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Death_Magic
Aura of the Lich and Masochism will both raise this number

There is a limit per party if you use blood of the master to heal the minions.
I have managed to run 3 minion masters and most of the time they had between 8 and 9 minions each. However when you cast bom to heal your minions you heal all 24 which gives a substantial dip in health. If you find another method of healing your army you can in theory get a bigger army. |

The biggest hindrance would be the number of corpses. Also be sure to bring skills such as mark of pain in order to increase your damage output. |

we already have that its called sabway or discordway :P
however when i play discord and have plenty of minions to build usually around 10/12 i also use a spirit wall (sos) i find that i can rush into battle as warrior take initial damage and minions take 2nd damage and if enemy warriors escape to the back while your still fighting the front line the spiritwall gives an awesome block. so its kinda like 3 defensive lines now. and you can never go full minion bar only 2 minion skills are enough to create minions till capped. + you need some damage to kill nad create bodys for minions |

Nope, there is no cap to the amount of minions in the party or the allies.
Ive played Vizunah Square with 2 synced teams of each 8 Minionmaster players. I think we managed to get the max amount of minions on every player once or twice in the whole mission. Was a gret blast... especially as we all used Blood of the Master before killing the last foe ending in a gigantic planned wipe (The survivors were creamed by the rogue minions ). |

I was told that the maximum for a character/hero is 10, even if your death magic is over 17. But even so, if the max rank in death magic is 20, and assuming you can get 12 minions at that level, if you had 8 members in a party, all MM (don't know why one would do that, but anyway...) that would come to a total of 96 minion cap.
The only problem I have with being MM/having MM heroes is that I/they lag behind ALL THE TIME -.- |

As pointed out bom can be a pain with multiple mm`s - there is also a slight problem with mm`s - if they are heros they will try and spam raise undead even if they are at max amount.Another slight problem thats noticable with mm`s is the hero ai insists that - if the mm has minions they will lag behind using any minion related skills like death nova and this itself means when you are ready to engage a mob oftem the minion wall is way behind.

ah yeah, i have noticed Olias (my usual mm) lagging behind quite often. another annoying side effect of minions i've seen is that guests and even sometimes your own heroes will lag behind trying to heal the minions... XD
does still sound like fun to play with from time to time though, i think i will try to hunt down the last few skills i'd need for it. thanks all! ^_^ |

I've done lichway with a pug in FoW. Was a good time. Suggestions would be 2 n/mo with heal area. 2 n/p with fall back .
